Morning all, Had a run out with the camera last night for sunset and was sing my Nikon 16-35 f4 nearly all the time, Just before I packed up I tried a shot with my Samyang 14mm f2.8 ........

Im well and truly convinced the focus ring needs adjusted

When focusing using live view on a star / planet, Starting at the closest focus and moving to infinity the star / planet gets sharer and sharper then you hit the Infinity stop I feel if I was able to go a tag further the images would be a hell of a lot sharper

Firstly has anyone else had this with a Samyang??

Secondly how can I get it fixed?

The lens was bought new from Amazon only a couple of month ago

This is a common problem with the lens although the usual issue is the focus going beyond infinity. There are plenty of YouTube and other internet guides for a diy fix but if the lens is brand new from a decent supplier like you say then I would return it.
 
I have the same problem with mine and I looked at the Youtube videos but decided to go down the simple route for night photography. It's a bit basic but my suggestion for those whose lens is out of warranty or don't want to try adjusting it themselves is to use a ring of bicycle inner tube (or wide elastic band) to bridge across from the focusing ring to the body of the lens. It will still allow access to the f stops but should hold the focus position for an evening trip in darkness. My only caveat would be to check the focus every time you set up the gear. Just in case!

But I haven't tried this myself yet as it only occured to me last week and I'm waiting on an inner tube from a cycling friend.

EDIT - Sorry Ben, I misread your post. I see now that you can't reach infinity rather than focus past infinity which is my problem. I've left the above in case it might be of help to anyone with a similar problem to my lens.

I have the Canon mount with no problems. As above though when I've heard about the issue, it's focussing past infinity rather than stopping just before?
