Sandisk 60mb/s Cards

I looked into this and from what I read 30mb/s is the max it can utilise.

Just because a camera tops out at 30MB/sec does not mean it'll fully utilise 30MB/sec cards.

I used 4GB Extreme III 30MB/sec cards in my D200, which gets the D200 running at its max speed (which is WELL below 30MB/sec). When I put those cards into the D300s, they topped out around 22MB/sec.

Going to the 60MB/sec Extreme cards got my camera writing out at full speed.

There are comparison charts out there for transfer speeds with different bodies using different cards. I don't remember the URL off-hand, but a quick Google search should bring them up.

thats fair enough, i use 4gb extreme 3's at the moment which are also 30mb/s and so far ive had no noticable speed issues.. but then i dont hammer the buffer at the moment so probably havent noticed. :)

Indeed. Shooting at 8fps for extended periods isn't something I need to do often, and the buffer's plenty big enough to fire off a burst of 3 or 4 whenever I need to, so the extra couple of seconds it may take at those times isn't a big deal.

But, I have the Extremes for when I need them.
