SanDisk CF Cards - Different

I have six SanDisk Extreme 60Mb/s *Gb CF cards. All work fine but I've just noticed that one has different graphics on the back and a different code number on the end. I've tried Googling and drawn a blank.

All look the same from the front:

One of these things is not like the others:

The odd one out is underneath, the other five are the same number:

Does anyone know if any are fakes, overseas market or a later batch? The five are from Amazon and Play and the odd one out is from Jacobs. I'm not worried (yet), just curious.
 
Just checked mine and they are all the same as your white backed ones.....no sign of a red band at the top! :thinking: Did you buy your Jacobs one before the others?! :shrug: I'm wondering if it's an older batch.....

Just remembered, I bought the first four from 7DayShop not Amazon between late Dec 09 and Jan 10. The Jacobs odd one out was purchased at Focus in February and the last was from the cheap offer from Play last month.

The 7DayShop and Play versions could well come from other markets.
 
Not sure if this helps ... Fake CF Cards.. Maybe worth a read...

I did think that, but at least one of mine (all white) is from Jessops (high street shop not mail order) and is identical to the rest from play.com, amazon etc.....the plot thickens! :thinking:
 
Having looked at Steve's link, I'm less inclined to think any are fakes and from the US phone number that micloi pointed out they are probably from over the pond.
 
I did do a search hence that link, and most have mentioned about the serial number & also about the "metal ring" border... Yours are the correct "border" as a fake would've had a "straighter" edge according to the replies...

There was a thread on here that enabled you to tell if the card was a fake but I cant seem to find it... It may have been in one of the threads regarding sd/cf cards..
 
I bought one from 7 Day Shop and it has the red band at the top like your 'odd one out'

Had it about 5-6 weeks now so maybe it's the newer stock that are Red???
 
It could well be a later design and newer stock, the code number is larger.
