Hi all, wasn't quite sure where to put this one, so thought this would be the best place... Anyone had any issues with the above memory cards? Specifically, my Canon G16 which I've had a few weeks, I bought a SanDisk 16gb Extreme 60mb/s card which worked okay for a while, then I randomly started getting the message, memory card error on the G16. I assumed the card was faulty so have just got a replacement, which is now doing exactly the same thing! As soon as I put a different card in, all is fine...
Anyone got any welcomed advice...
Thanks

I have a few of the same cards not had any problems check to make sure the firmware on your camera is up to date.

Is it a genuine Sandisk? Where did you get it from, Andy?

I bought a couple of these when I got the X-T1. I did have this happen once when I was putting the card back in after uploading some photos to the computer. I just took the card out and put it back in and it was fine. Not happened since.

Hi Marc, I done this a few times with the first one and it worked a few times. But eventually no matter what, it just came up with the error message. Now I'm getting it constantly with the new one....

Been on the Canon website and there are no firmware available there, so I guess mine is up to date?

Hmm, that's starting to worry me now. Only had the camera and card a few months and only used it a few times.

Must admit I was worried too, but my old 8gb Extreme Pro card works fine, so I can't imagine it's a camera fault....

Hi

Two things to try

#1 make sure its been formatted in the camera you are using it in.

#2 do a search on the net for software to detect if it is a real capacity card or one of the many fake cards doing the rounds at the moment, I know you bought it from Tesco so should be ok, but they are not immune from someone in the supply chain pulling a fast one.

FakeFixer Software will soon tell you if its of genuine capacity or is reporting a fake capacity which can and will give you error like you are getting.

Hi Paul, oddly the camera wouldn't let me format the card. The option was like, greyed out. So I've formatted it on the PC, then I had the option to format in camera. So I've done this, and so far it appears to be working!
So fingers crossed...

Thanks for the advice matey
