Sat nav Problem

Hi

I am having a lot of problems getting a signal and/or position accuracy when I have a signal, with my sat nav and was hoping to buy and external antenna.

However I don't seem to be able to find one for the model I have (My Guide 3100).

So I guess my question is are external antenna's generic or are they model and make specific?

It may seem like a dumb question but I have very little knowledge in this area and have found very little information on this.

Thanks for the link Keith.... I have asked on another site which is talking about the Sat nav I have but if I get no joy from these 2 queries I will give them a try.
