Satisfied with D4 autofocus?

Thinking long and hard about upgrading from a D3s to a D4 and amongst all the glowing press blurb am getting some adverse comments about the autofocus capabilities for moving subjects eg birds in flight etc. Any comments. merv:bang:
 
It is better than the D3s. If someone is finding it not to be, then they should send it back to Nikon.
It is slightly faster in my opinion. But the success rate at focussing in darker conditions, is much better.Also the f8 focus ability is spot on for me. Horses for courses. You will always find someone that's not happy Merv.
What you have to decide, is what do you want/need out of the D4. For me, it was a worthwhile upgrade at a sensible price in my case.

£4799 at Castle cameras today it was £4499 yesterday but I suspect that was a bit of a bo bo :)

Finding the AF to be fantastic on it, especially in low light. 3D tracking is frighteningly accurate.

We were discussing mainly the D3s vs D4 but I also just wanted to know a rough price from Merv so I could weigh it up. Even so it's probably against the rules but no bad intent was meant. Sorry. :coat:

It really is Merv. Ergonomically its a slight but noticeable improvement over the D3s. At first I didn't like losing more physical selectors but now i prefer it. If you focus using AF-ON its particularly comfortable.
 
Have you looked at SLR hut website. Don't know about the place, but they have the D4 on their site for £4105, cheaper than D3s.
As I said, no idea about the place, but if decent, think we should split the saving ha ha

Just had a look on their site with some very good saving to be had, they have premises in london that you can visit and claim to be well stocked. I'm sure that they are grey imports but i may be wrong, Canon 1Dx for £4780 :D
