Ok, I didnt think I was asking much, but aparently I am!!

I was on holiday last week with the Mrs and her family. Got some nice family pics and have been putting together a nice cd.

Thing is I got a thought into my head about creating a nice CD which they can bung in their DVD player and enjoy a slideshow of the holiday.

It would seem I am asking the impossible. I have Elements 8 which does create a slideshow, but it uses some poor VCD format which means the resolution of the pictures is so low that when they're on the TV they look very poor indeed.

What I want is a bit of software which will display the pictures in their full resolution on a cd (or dvd) in a DVD player.........

Is this even possible?!?

Seems everywhere I look sites dont state the output resolution of the final image via the DVD player and I'll be damned if I'm going to fork out money on a gamble!!

So, does anyone have any idea about software I can use to create a nice, high res slideshow for the inlaws??

Kind reagrds

Photodex pro show gold. Enough said :) amazing software for creating slideshows!

How is your TV connected to the DVD player? HDMI might give you a reasonable picture, but SCART or even (eek!) RF gives about 640x480.

TV is connected via HDMI leads.

The problem is both Elements and other software display the images at something like 320x200 when writing to CD.

The images themselves take up around 600mb, though the slideshow is only 98mb!

The pictures easily fit on a CD so why cant they be displayed at their native resolution!!

It's soo frustrating, I thought it would be dead easy to do as well!!

DVD players have a resolution of 720x576. Even if you have an upscaling DVD player connected with HDMI the best you will get is 576 lines upscaled to 1080. But also remember that you sit further back from a TV and if you are happy with DVD playback then you may be ok with the slideshow. Usually a slideshow where the pictures scroll on and off screen and are constantly moving looks best in my opinion.

Just had a play about with the trial version.....MY GOD!! Fantastic!

Thanks for the pointer!
