Saving of rezized image

Can someone advice me on how to SAVE & eventualy print an enlarged (zoomed) image in photoshop without it reverting to the original jpeg size of picture.
I am fairly new to digital photography/photoshop so please forgive what may seem a stupid question.
All suggestions & advise would be appreciated.
 
use - view fit on screen, so the window hugs the border of the image

zoom in to what you want, and crop to the window border

save as an edited version, and print

voila
 
Go to image/size type in the size you want and click ok.
Now save as, change the name to something like enlarged (or reduced) depending on what size your making it ( I just use 7x5 or 10x8 although it's just for convenience when printing) you can call it anything you like really, the important part is the save as part, if you just save a resized pic, when you close it will ask if you want to save the changes, if you click no it will overwrite your saved pic with the original.
A good tip is when you open an image, go to image duplicate, then close the original and work on the duplicate, now when you save it won't affect your original (and copying your originals to CD/DVD/external drive before any work as a back up is good practice. Wayne
