SB600/800 for the D7000???

Hi,
Just wondered if there was much in it or is there something better out there? Just general photography possibly with the 16-85mm lens nothing professional.

After a lot of deliberation as to what lens to put on my D7000 I actually went for the 16-85mm. It suits my photographic needs as I like wide angle but with just enough reach for family and friends. On the camera it feels just right, nicely balanced.
 
SB-900/910 are uber-pwerful and mahoosive (and expensive)... the SB-700 is a more compact affair that's just as nice to use and has decent power.

I still love my SB-800s though - really easy to use in manual, although not as good for setting up in CLS as the later models. I'd prefer an SB-800 to the modern Nikons if I were using it on camera though, as the adjusments are instant, there's no pressing a button before making an adjustment.
 
I had the SB600 for my D90 with 16-85mm. Now have a SB700 with a D7000. The SB700 and above is worth the extra over the SB600 as it's so much easier to use. It's a nightmare changing modes on the SB600.

Thx for your input and everbody who replied. I used the SB600 only very briefly on the D50 so its as "New" if anyone is interested in part-ex then I would be looking for the SB700.Thx
 
If you already have a sb600 why not just use that? I'm not sure the sb700 does enough extra to warrant selling and buying?

:shrug: Really?????

I didn't find it so when I had mine and I also have a SB-700 and an SB-800.
 
I don't use the flash that often so I guess you do get accustomed to changing modes after a while. It was remembering which button combo to put the SB600 into slave that I could never remember.
 
+1 for the sb-700. Great flash. And it does not eat batteries like my Yngho (or whatever its called). The sb-400 is a great little flash fro keeping in the bag as well.

Thx; you could be right; I might give the SB600 a go and see how I get on. Thx for input from all; its all useful info for me. Cheers:)
