SB700 Not Working...

Went to use my SB700 this evening and it showed low battery, changed the batteries and nothing, changed again and re charged them. Nothing :'(

Checked everything I can check and it just isn't turning on or showing any signs of life! Anything obvious I should do? Or is it back to Nikon for repair. It should be still under warranty, will double check.

This is probably the most obvious thing, but are you 100 per cent sure the batteries are in the right way. I do it often with my SB800 and kick myself every time :lol:

Obvious questions are good! I'm hoping it's something obvious rather than it going back to Nikon!

I've just doubled checked again and got my husband to check too, definitely the right way. :(

Tried 3 different rechargable sets and 1 set of brand new disposable batteries. Tested the batteries in other equipment, they are fine.

What did equipment did you test the batteries in? I'm just asking because a battery that won't power up a flashgun will often still work a tv remote or a radio or similar.
