Hi all,

I've around £200 to spend on a decent scanner, need to do film and prints. Got lots of people asking me to backup their old negatives on to DVD.

Any suggestions? Anything to keep an eye out for when shopping?

I've just bought myself a Canon Canoscan 9000F to replace my old Canoscan 8000F for which I couldn't find a driver for Win7. Got a built in tranny hood light and will cope with 35mm slides and neg strips as well as 6x6 (2 1/4" square) slides. A4 flatbed for scanning prints etc.

Only got it yesterday so haven't really done much playing but A4 prints from 35mm neg scans look OK. Also comes with PSE8 in the bundled software.

thanks for the link Ian.

I was looking at that very scanner in AP the other month, looks like a decent setup. Let me know how it works out for you.

Need to get one asap really as the wife's grandfather has just passed away and they want me to make copies of all of his photos so they can be shared amongst the family :)
