I've had an email from an outfit I've never heard of called www.schmap.com. they want to use one of my Flickr pics in their online travel guides although they aren't offering any money. I'm inclined to say "no money no photo" but am I missing a trick here. What does the collective wisdom of TP suggest...Yay or Nay
 
There was a discussion about Schmap about a month/six weeks ago on here which generated plenty of heat.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. These publishers rely on people giving their images away to make THEIR living. Presumably everyone BUT the photographers get paid.....
 
tbh they contacted me not long after I got a flickr account asking to use one of my pics.

I didnt think it was anything that spectacular or saleable so I agreed they could use it with a credit and a link directly back to my flickr page.

Thanks I must have missed that thread....right I'll see if I can find it.
 
Just use the forum search facility. There aren't too many threads that mention Schmap.
 
I got asked the same thing earlier this month, and the path of least resistance for me was to accept it rather than read their T's&C's and make an informed decision...... ironically it was a pic taken pre-DSLR days with my old point and shoot - doubt it will lead to any widespread acclaim but still :-)
