Not always easy to get shots of birds in flight and Puffins move quite quickly.
It looks like you had a very bright day, which is never the best for bird photography, particularly when you are shooting subjects with both black and white feathers. The main thing that immediately strikes me is that the photos are quite soft but without any exif shown or available it is difficult to suggest why that might be, could be higher shutter speed needed, focus not quite up to it ... even the harsh light helping to create problems.
