i had a little accident with my Sigma 85 at the weekend resulting in a few scratches on the front element. I'm in the middle of getting a quote from Sigma for the repair. a bit annoying but not a problem... i'm insured with Photoguard but now i'm reading the t&c of the policy and under the 'not covered' under the accidental damage there is a clause:
"what is not covered:
9: Marring, scratching, denting"

does this mean they will try and wiggle out of this? i can understand them not wanting to cover a lens/camera body being scratched or dented, but the front element is fundamental to the function of the lens, surely?
as far as i can tell the lens focuses fine, maybe some resistance on the focus ring which wasn't there previously but i've not had an operturnity to test it fully. i will hopefully have time tomorrow.
anybody claimed for front element damage with photoguard?
