Screw in 10 stopper and Lee ND grads?

Hi all,

I have a B+W screw in 10 stopper I use with my Canon 10-22 UWA. I've had some nice results but would like to be able to use it with an ND grad. I have the Lee foundation and was hoping I could somehow use them together. Has anyone tried this combo?

Technically I can of course put the 10 stopper on the lens, and then attach the Lee kit to the filter but then I can't position the grad. Should I firstly put the Lee kit directly onto the lens, setup the focus and exposure, set to manual focus, drop in the grad, set it's position, take the grad and Lee adapter off, screw the 10 stopper back and then fit the Lee stuff again? I guess this would work but can't see how I'd get the Lee holder back in the exact same place? Am I being daft and missing something here? Or is the better option to sell the B+W and try to find a hens teeth like Lee big stopper or maybe get the Hitech pro 10 stopper?

I'd also like to add a polariser but am unsure as to which to buy? Should I get a screw in and then add the Lee kit or get one of the 110 mm round lee ones or the Lee 100mm square one? Any preference for which will vignette the least on my OWA?

Sorry for all the questions, but am new to all this filter stuff!

It is likely with any screw in filter with a Lee filter kit on top your are likely to see some form of vignetting at the widest end.

As for the grad positioning....You could use live view if you have it, or do test exposures at high ISO to test placement. Basically though any solution is a compromise.

The best answer to both questions is to buy the Lee polariser and the Lee Big Stopper, but neither are cheap!
