SD card capacity decreasing

I posted this in the Fuji X10 users thread but perhaps it is a more common problem.

When I take a shot with my X10 and then delete it, the number of available shots nevertheless decreases by one. If I take two or twenty shots and delete them the number of available shots still decreases. Even if I format the card the number of shots available still shows as the reduced number.

I use SanDisc cards, but at this rate I'll have to buy a wheelbarrow load.

Help needed please.
 
Try formatting it in a card reader on your pc.

The only thing could cause that is if it doesnt actually remove the file correctly.

Dont do a quick format, do a full format.
 
Thanks Chris, but I have just found the answer on Fuji's web site. Apparently you format a card then select renew in the set up menu. Take a shot, delete and bingo, all is well.

Heaven knows why this happens.

Your suggestion is much appreciated. :thumbs:
 
That sounds a little complicated! At least you've solved the issue now though.

Seems pretty odd. Do you had a link to the Fuji page?

I can kind of understand the shoot/delete thing. But not the format.
