SD Card for D7000

Hi, I 've just bought the D7000 finally. Having used Nikon F5 this looks like a toy Made in Thailand!!!!! Anyway haven't had the chance to test it as, yet as no SD Card. Its going to be for holiday use although I may use it for video as well so which card is recommended. I may end up doing 2-3 hrs video + 300 pics. Is performance spd something to worry about; if so why? Any recommendations and best place to buy.

I am sure you are going to love it, its a great camera.

As for cards, I use a couple of 16GB SanDisk Extreme 45MB/s and they do the job

Yup, I also use Sandisk Extreme's now exclusively. Learned the hard way that cheap SD cards are not to be trusted and the 45MB/s also helps a lot when shooting in continuous high and also for movies.

I think the 16GB cards are probably the best value in terms of storage vs cost.

You might not need 95mb/s speed, but curry's prices aren't too bad atm http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/sandisk-extreme-pro-class-10-sdhc-memory-card-16gb-13985219-pdt.html but get the best you can afford.

I would also recommend the Sandisk cards. I have the 45MB/s version and the 95MB/s version. Effectively there's no difference in performance in my D7000.
