Sd card question

I have transferred all my pictures from my sdhc card onto my laptop. I have then formatted the card using my canon 550d so it's now an empty card. I intend to put 2 pictures back onto the card to take to get them printed. I have done this but when I use the camera to review the pics they are not showing? I have put the card back into the laptop and verified they are there. To double check the location stored on the card I have taken a few pics and they appear located in the same folder. Why can't I see them when trying to review using my camera? Am I missing something

Have you changed the file names or edited the pictures in any way? That will change the data of the image and prevent the camera from seeing them.

They started out as Raw, I used Lightroom to edit and export as jpeg. The file name has changed and I doubt I will be able to recall the original file name. I take it this is the only way for the camera to read the file then?

It's not a major problem as the picture is definitely there ready to be printed. I was just curious as to why the camera would not show it despite the name being changed
