SD cards for Canon 1D Mark 2 Help !

Hi ,
I ordered a 8GB SD card for my recent purchase mainly to use it as a back up.
Stuck it in today and although camera recognises it , card wont format
Card is ok in wifes 450D and tried $GB card from there in mark 2 and same result .
Checked on google and found various answrs , such as may be SDHC incompatible etc and firmware downloads and not able to use above 2GB.
Does anyone have a cure ?

Firmware version 1.2.6 added SDHC compatibility

Thanks Rich , now all I have to do is work out how to update the firmware....
but will check and see which version is already there

No problem David, I always update onto a card rather than via USB connection

I had problems when i had the Mk2n, it would take 8gb but couldnt format above 4 if i remember correctly. Even with the latest formware.

IIRC, the MKII's will only format SD upto 4Gb. If you take the chance and format it on your PC then it will write to the full 8Gb.

Well have updated the firmware and seems to recognise the card , at least has formatted it , whether to 4GB or 8GB not sure but I will be mainly using as back up so not overly concerned - as long as the images are there if/when my CF goes phut
