Hi gromit and welcome. In answer to your question I think yes. If you take the rock on the right that is in focus, and to me so is the the tail up untill mid point on the birds back. Also imo the leg looks soft :shrug: If you took a vertical line up the birds leg which finishes roughly mid point of the birds back, this seems to be roughly where the sharpness stops due to dof. There is less detail on the birds head due to the brighter plumage which makes it more difficult to tell, but because of the catchlight in the eye it is giving the impression that the head is in focus, but I dont think it is. Good capture though If you view your original picture in your Nikon software, can it show you where your focus points are in the frame? I have done a slight edit and sharpened it a touch, any more and I think it would throw it out altogether :shrug: Take my comments with a pinch of salt though, as it has been confirmed my eyes and monitor are shot to pieces
