Hi all
i seen a post on friday (i think) and it had a photoshop link on how to get a sort of misty blury effect. i think it was called an ian something effect.
it could have been in landscapes but i cannot find it anywhere.
can any one help
cheers.

The way I would do it would be to create a levels adjustment layer. Slide the black point up to around 170 or 180 - this will give an overall foggy effect to the entire image.

It's then a case of using a soft edged brush on the associated layer mask to adjust the effect to your preferences. Use a black brush to hold the effect back. To hold it back completely, use a brush opacity of 100%. For a slightly subtler effect, use a lower opacity brush.

If at any time you think you may have held the misty effect back too much, just change the brush colour to white, and paint the mist back.
