Well it seems that our House Sparrow and Green Finches have been extra
busy this year! It also explains why we didn't have so many birds around for
a couple of weeks too (as well as the Sparrow Hawk hunting in our garden)...
they were sitting on a new clutch of eggs! At least I think they
are new fledglings  The parents are feeding them,
where as the others had well and truly started feeding themselves.

This past week it's gone mad at the feeding station again, and the
seed is back to going down at an incredible rate

great shots Jo,very sharp but look a little dark on my screen?

is highly likely a second brood Jo, my mum and dad have a blackbird in their garden that had 3 broods this year all 3 have fledged (we know its the same one as it has a dodgy foot, and nested in the shed lol) they also have a blackbird nest in the hedge by the front door, that had at least 2 broods also.

Nice catches, but yes a little dark, not overly so that a tweak in photoshop etc wouldnt be able to fix it though :)

I guess they are a bit dark, but for some reason I like it  It also is almost how it was outside at the time, as some really dark clouds had just rolled in... I might play with them another time. I did try and boost them some more but they seemed to lose detail and become grainy.

Anyway... here's one more bird shot from today ;)

P.S Ian ~ I read in my bird books later today that Sparrows can have up to 4 broods a year! So 2 broods seems rather tame now
