SECOND- HAND DEAL

Thoughts please, new here and only just returning to photography. My last SLR was film - Yashica fr.

Looking to buy a DSLR. I have been offered:

Canon eos 400d
+
canon 75-300 ultrasonic mk11

Used but in good order and complete - £220. The kit will have been looked after.

Good deal? Or should I hold on for a 20d and then look for a lens?

Its not a bad deal - but for another hundred quid or so you could get a 40D (or a 550D ) which would be a lot more capable

I use a 400D for macro stuff with an mp-e 65mm. If you dont need high iso or fast focussing it's pretty good.

400D is very basic but can get great shots in good light. You do want to avoid that lens as a plague though
