Second hand PSUs

Looking for a PSU upgrade for a Dell Dimension 5150, a fairly old computer so theres very little new out there.

Basically wondering if anyone can recommend a UK site (not Ebay) for second hand or reconditioned PSUs?

depends if its a standard form factor, dell have a habbit of using non-standard size PSU.

thats the first thing to find out.

Take the PSU out and identify all the connectors and cable lengths (post photo on here would be easier). People can then advise if you can swap it for a standard PSU

google suggests its a standard ATX psu in the 5150.

id check the dimensions of the supply and the cables/pins required though.

Thanks all but I already know exactly what it is, and I have a pretty good idea of what I'm looking to replace it with. I'm just after second hardware site recommends.

You could have a look around your local computer fairs. It's not guaranteed, but you can often find someone there selling second-user components.

OCUK forums but i think you have to have a minimum post count and member for a certain period.

Not sure why you're after a second hands PSU. If it's ATX, then any of the cheap jobbies will do if you just want something cheap. Have to say I now don't bother scrimping on power supplies and I always buy decent brand and overspec'd power supplies. Just isn't worth the bother and hassle when one goes pop.

Trying to save money and don't need something obscenely overpowered in a six year old, relatively power efficent PC.
