Secondary body recommendations?

Hello all!

I shoot currently with a canon rebel 550D, however I fancy a more rugged body and functionality wise I want to step out of the rebel band of bodies, moving into the XXD rather than XXXD range.

Any recommendations on a secondary body? Id love a 7D but the budget won't stretch yet to that, the only reason I'm keeping my 550D is for the video aspect (i film a fair bit)

Thanks for the reply, someone's offered a real good price on my 550D body, does the 5D have video?

It's either that or I stretch further and get the 60D, I'm basically bored of the rebel lines layout, I want to push myself further and adapt to a higher level.

The mark 1 doesn't have video no but is a big jump in image quality. I personally don't think you will get a massive upgrade in going for the 60d but if you want video then its your only option. I would wait for a bit if I were you if you definitely want video and buy a second body when you can afford to keep both.
 
What glass do you have? Need to match the glass with the body.

I'd personally switch to a 50/60D (whatever has video) and ditch the 550, get some better lenses too. The handling on the xxD range is much nicer IMO than the xxxD range.

Glass wise I've got a 28-135 is usm, canon 50mm 1.8 and a samyang 8mm

I've just sold the kit lens I've had for a while.

Body wise I'm going to sell the 550D and buy a 60D, the rebel range is very limited for me now
