You can buy from the for sale section you just cannot place an advert. Just keep an eye on that section.

basically i have a 18-105 so what do you guys reckon is the next step? would like nikon lenses really bug sigma tamron will do

really want vr or os

Totally depends on your budget and what you want to shoot.

If it's sports or wildlife then you'll need something like a 70-200mm or a 70/100-300mm. You can get really good quality long zooms for about £250 these days (I think Nikon's is about £300) but if you wan fast apertures you'll pay a premium; £500-£600 for a f/2.8 70-200mm and about £900 for a f/4 100-300mm.

That said, the cheaper lenses with that range but with a f/4.5 or f/5.6 aperture will be a good investment. There's a Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 going for £425 in the for sale section.

If it's landscape photography or general street work then your kit lens is fine, although many people on here have invested in ultra-wide 12-24mm or 10-20mm wideangle zooms. A sigma 10-20mm (I don't rate them) is about £300 used and a Tokina 12-24mm f/4 is about the same used. Nikon does a 10.5mm fisheye that's amazing but costs between £400-£500 but it's good.

If it's macro you're doing then a dedicated macro lens, something like a Sigma 100mm or a Tamron 90mm wil be great - think you'll get one for less than £300. The 60mm Nikon is quite good too by all accounts. These macro lenses would also double-up as a good portrait lenses.

Just suss out what it is you want to shoot - your 18-105mm is a good all-round lens with a good amount of zoom – and then work out what kind of lens you'll need to help you progress.

Long lenses available from the TP For Sale section:

Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8

Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8

Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6 VR

Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8

Nikon 75-300mm VR

Hope this helps :)

Probably better posting in the equipment section or doing a search as these questions are often asked and there are some great replies and information in previous threads.
