Hi,
As a man with a camera I was asked by my boss to get some head shots of a couple of guys that I work with so there LinkedIn profiles could be updated. Whilst messing about with the lighting I shot a couple of self portaits with the one below being my favourite. Not sure it will make the best profile pic for LinkedIn though!

I like the portrait, but not the composition. Either make it dead-centre for a symmetrical look or put it way off and add some negative space.
 
I much prefer that - even tempted to shave more off the left hand side.

Looks underexposed to me, mate.
 
In my head I was trying to get a dark and grim feel to the shot but looking at it now I agree with your comment.
 
Maybe just some levels adjustment will lift it a little.
