Tried to go for the studio-esque look

Here's a drawing of my 'studio' set up? :naughty:

Stood in the doorway of my bedroom, i have totally white walls :D

It was taken with my 430ex bounced off the wall directly in front of me with the kit lens at 18mm.

I'm quite pleased with the result actually!

Very good - I would have thought you had done it in a studio or with a proper white background if you hadn't have said. Nice shot.

Very good result - definately has that professional look about it, sure the ladies will be along soon enough (y)

I agree with the others; looks very well done IMHO!

On your diagram, where was the camera? And how did you trip it?

I guess when youre that darn cute ... you cant go far wrong can you! ;)

Seriously though, really nice pic, you should be proud of that.

Uh Oh! ... is this the start of a 'self portrait' thread!

The camera was in my hand :D

The 20d+grip+430+lens is blooming heavy too when its facing the wrong way and held in one hand

erm...are your eyes really that big?

Superb shot, really good angle and pose too!

You've done really well - I like it. Am loving the mean n moody look ;) I've failed miserably at self portraits, so I think you've done a good job - looks quite professional

You look better when you smile jonny, like this

Seriously though, excellent photo, looks like a professional studio one. Wonder how you'd do with a tripod and a remote release - might be worth giving that a try :)

Matt

wow, you got the kit lens that sharp  HOW?! :p

nice work fella, definitely has a professional feel to it.

He didn't, he used his 70-200L....

He just has very long arms and a small head.
:D

(Just kidding)

Intense stare on you there Johnny boy. I'm not a fan of the studio look or at least the full light look, i'm more in to available light. But Self portraits are not easy no matter where they are taken

Can so often be cheesy, i don't think this is

Cheers

I can honestly say this is one of the best self portraits I have seen in a long time. Well done Jonny..(y)

nice one jonny, well taken, well lit, and well planned.

Now run away before the ladies find out where you live...

I have his address.............and I can be bought :D

Uh-hum. *cough*

Can someone please move this to the Classifieds forum?

Now you're getting him *REALLY* worried. How about put him out for auction on Ebay?
