I too have the 17-55 & 10-22 on a crop body and have wondered whether I'd ever switch to a 24-70.
The build quality & weather sealing of the 24-70 appeal and I'd not be too bothered about losing the wide end due to having the 10-22 but the loss of IS would annoy me.
24-105 has IS but you lose a stop of light. I've never really found that to be a big problem as I also have a couple of fast primes for low light stuff.
Having owned both I'd urge you to keep the 17-55 is staying crop. I switched to go full frame and miss the IS of the 17-55. I personally think the 17-55 was a tad sharper than the 24-70 too.
Keep 17-55 for now. Better think about 70*200mm or some prime like 85mm f/1.8. 24-70 can wait till you see the light and upgrade to full frame; by then there will *probably* be IS version.
