Hiya

My name is Anthony and I've been a semi professional photographer for 5 years now. My moto is you don't need thousands of pounds worth of kit to be successful. I shoot with a 4 year old compact camera but my results are still just as good in my opinion. I do quite a few weddings and i am about to quit job to start up my own photography business so i will be turning fully professional soon.

I mainly signed up to this forum for advice on business names and so on but i thought i'd post some of my work as i love positive comments... the photos are linked from my facebook so not the usual quality. dont let that put you off ***.

Anyway that will do for now. i would like to get a more powerful flash but i have heard i need something caleld a hotshoe? where can i get one of those please?

Well, I wouldn't say the quality was the same as a SLR but if people are prepared to pay for your work then fair enough... Are you going to be a one man band?

you say "semi professional" , who's your main sort of customer ? is it mostly weddings you do ?

Well I do have big plans...I might be willing to employ a couple of good togs but it really depends on their work. I have seen some of yours in the past and its good but I dont know if im looking for that type of work tbh.

Well I have done 2 wedding, both were friends of mine. But I am looking to fo more mainsteam now, hence giving up my job etc..
 
I particularly like the way you have distorted the large lady in 5 & 7 and made her look enormous :LOL::LOL:

This thread looks like it'll be a good laugh tonight, shame the footies on later though :wacky:

I am by far no expert i would barely call myself a Novice if i am honest. I have been slowly learning bits for a good two years now and its been slow, although i havent had much time lately to do any learning or practicing.

Can you really call yourself a semi-pro, i think you are kind of right in saying that you do not necessarily need hundreds of thousands of pounds of gear, but to say you are a semi pro and you use a compact camera, surely you have been misled.

Why would so many thousands pro togs be spending that much amount of money on gear if they could use a compact camera and be called a pro?

Dont mean to sound harsh but either this is a joke or you have been seriously misled.
 
Someone has already been at the cocktail sausages. And They should have got a few more scotch eggs in my opinion and where are the pork pies?
