Any tips, Guides or recomended places???
 
I use a Lenspen SensorKlear and works a treat if you don't fancy a wet clean
 
I use the system shown in the post above it was a bit of a faff getting set up to do it but it works great.Just one swipe each way 30 secs max and my sensor was cleaner than any other method I had used previously.:thumbs:
 
I use a Lenspen SensoKlear as well and find it very easy to do. I was a bit nervous the first time I did it but it worked very well and I've done it around half a dozen times now on various cameras. I got the kit with a loupe to see where the crud is on the sensor and concentrate on that first.

Nice thanks I will Google that. I have never cleaned my sensor
 
Another sensorklear vote here, it's been getting a right old workout lately!
 
Anyway, I had another go following the link above. I had nothing to loose, 1DsII was plain filthy. I used a whole pec pad as opposed to cutting them (as recommended somewhere). I reused plastic spatulas from Visible dust swabs that proved useless about a year ago (or I had too little to finish the job).

At first - terrible smear. The Ds are known to spit some oil on the sensor :bat:. I then used SmearAway liquid. No good, it just kept getting worse. The mess then got "soaked up" with an ancient / finished Sensor Klear. The smudge went away but the sensor got decorated with plenty of fine black particles, particularly at the edges. The centre started looking half decent, giving me a usable 1.3x crop camera.

Then went I opted for a couple of drops of analytical grade methanol. Yes, no expensive branded nonsense that couldn't finish the job. Two passes and it has less than 10 spots at f14, all near the edges. That's good enough for me. :thumbs:
