Hi guys
i wonder if you can help me with something i'm not too sure about?
cleaning the sensor on Nikon D3
i keep seeing posts about people sending them away for professional cleaning
is there any reason why i couldn't clean this myself?
i've always cleaned my own sensor on my D200 & D2Xs without issue
would i need to use anything different like a special fluid or something?
is there something different about the sensor in the D3 that i should know about before i go blundering in
is it more easily damaged etc than what i'm used to?
i'd hate to ruin it but i'm confident enough to do it knowing if i have the right equipment at hand. i have the visible dust sensor kit & solution, which i would assume would be suitable
thought i'd better ask first :bonk:

You don't touch the sensor at all, there is a layer on top that the dust lands on
I do my 5d2 when it needs done, it's easy enough to do, I would advice everyone to do it, just don't put all your weight on it,

Just get the correct cleaning fluid fore the type of sensor and away you go
