Sensor cleaning??

After taking a test shot at f22 on a white wall, i noticed afew dots (which i suspect is moisture) on the sensor.

I've never cleaned the sensor since buying my camera and i've been abit weary about doing it myself.


I emailed a local shop and they replied saying that "Sony DSLR's have to be cleaned by a Sony Service Centre at a cost of £70.00" and they could send it off for me if i wish. At the moment i REALLY dont have £70.00 for it to be cleaned professionally, and wondered how easy this is to do and what equipment i will need to carry it out myself?

Its a Sony A200 (Crop Sensor)
 
FITP cleaning swabs and follow the instructions. They are fragile but not as fragile as you probably think. Just keep away from the edges where you could pick up oil.
 
if you still feel you can't do it yourself... try a different shop - one of the local shops in my town sends them off to be cleaned, another a few miles away cleans them within the hour while you wait. look around... you will find one that will do it for you. somebody on the board might be able to recommend somewhere. i've got a nice little place in norfolk i know, but that's rather a long drive!

btw, it will cost about 40 quid for sensor clean though.

sony a200 sensor is oilly but still no problem to clean them by yourself.
show us the pic. even if you get it cleaned professionally it doesn't mean that there won't be any after some time. your better off doing it yourself. just watch some youtube videos and order some from FITP .
 
I was in the same situation recently, and a quick search here unearthed a wealth of information. I got some swabs from FITP and it really is an easy task.Something I did slightly differently was I mounted my body on a tripod, mount downwards, which left both hands free to allow me to use a small torch to light the inside of the body.
 
search on here - there are some great instructions ...first time is a bit daunting, but then it's easy!
