Guys,
just got home from the Liverpool 'Learn Together' meet and pulled up some shots. A lot of the shots have sensor marks which I am assuming is just dust but wanted a second opinion.

This links to a 100% crop against blue sky.

Seems a lot given I don't really change lenses much.

Definitely on the sensor, not the front of the lens/filter?

Lens looks clean, tried the built-in sensor clean but I can still see them against a white wall.

yeah looks like dust to me, what aperture did you shoot that with? I am assuming its 11+ as they are quite dark..

blue sky is a killer for showing dust spots, hopefully a good old blow with a rocket blower should get rid of most/all of it.

Yeah f16

That my friend is not Minging :nono: just a few dust bunnies, no biggie.

Too embarrassed to post mine, that would be the definition of Minging  :p

Just double check and try it with another lens. It's easier than having to clean (well, blow) the sensor...although it probably is on the sensor if it looks clean, mind.

They're dust bunnies on the sensor. To be on the lens they'd have to be massive and even then I don't think they'd look like that.

Try a rocket blower and if that doesn't work a contact clean should be next. f16 is a bit extreme though.

Okay quick update ...

I cleaned both ends of my lens (which already looked spotless) and checked again. The marks still showed up but I did notice one that showed up in the viewfinder even before taking a shot which suggested dust on the sensor and mirror.

I popped out to pickup a rocket blower which has taken care of the dust on the mirror but the sensor spots remain. So what opinions do I have and which would you recommend?

Sensor pen, swabs?

Give it a wet clean with swabs.
