Yes
I always used to use swabs but inadvertently got 16mm swabs rather than 14mm for my 10D, as a result the sharp edge of a shortened swab caught on the sensor and scratched it badly.

Since 2007 I have been using a Senorklear pen to clean my sensors but recently the results have been disappointing and I seem to be just moving dust around more than anything else, this despite having replaced the tip of the pen just last week.

So now I am probably going to go back to sensor swabs and I just want to make sure that 14mm is the right size for a 30D and a 40D, looks like I can pick up ten of them for about £20 online.

Not sure on specific sizes, I use the visibledust 1.5/1.6 sensor swabs and 1.3 sensor swabs for my camera's, they don't give a size, just what sensor to use them on, but it seems that a 16mm swab is for the 1.6 x sensors
