Serious Question about iPad2

Could anyone with an ipad 2 help me please.
When you download images from your pc to the ipad do you see the images immediately in your Gallery (or if not how soon afterwards) or do you have to turn the ipad off and then on again to see them.The reason is I think you may have to do the latter with a Samsung Galaxy Tab which I am trying out at the moment and its a pain!

never turned my ipad off and images are in the gallery it should be instant.

It syncs, and then once it finished synching,they're all visible

Thanks Guys, I bought the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tab on Wednesday came with the Kies software which I presume is meant for phones and not tablets (although they dont say this) because could not get photos from pc to tablet, then one folder kept overwriting another folder and to see them in Gallery I still have to turn the tablet off and on again...its going back to John Lewis tonight and I'm picking up an ipad.

LOL Now you know why they are still leading by far Amazing that in nearly two years nobody has been able to produce something that comes even close.
