Setting appature in manual mode (100d)

Hi. My gf recently bought a Canon 100d and can't figure out how to set appature in manual mode without using the touch screen.

Is there not a faster way of doing it using the wheel? The wheel only sets shutter speed and there is a dedicated iso button to set that but nothing on the appature?

press or hold the +/- button whilst turning the dial....?

I think you'll find this might be explained in the camera's user manual. Perhaps on page 119, at a wild guess.
