Setting custom white balance

Hi just playing with the option of setting custom white balance to fine tune it, however it's now setting it at maximum temp and giving an error not sure what i i am doing wrong.

How are you doing it then?

Handbook usually explains it simply enough - shoot neutral white card, or grey, illuminated by the light you're shooting under. Use that as custom reference target. Done.

Just reset it back to factory settings and start again

yeah did that and it was working fine the other day just went to re do it and every time i did the test shot it maxed out the temp and gave an error.
