I had a 640Gb drive sitting about so I bought a NAS enclosure for it and now have it set up ok but I need some back up software for it.

I assume something like Acronis would do the trick? or is there something better out there?

Windows 7 in case it matters.

Microsoft Synctoy is good and even better - it's free.

Cheers m8, just gave it a try but it seems to be manual backup only (nice and easy to use though), I'm looking to have files saved automatically either daily or as they are changed.

Some of the offerings I've seen have been way too complicated and unintuitive, Acronis don't do anything suitable.

You can automate synctoy by setting it to run as part of 'Task Scheduler' with -R tagged onto the command line to run all folder pairs at a set time.

doh! cheers guys.

Cheers for that I'm trying the software neil suggested, it seems to be working ok. On to trying to get my printer to work through it now as it has a print server doobrey.

Another free backup utility is Yadis, real time backup, been using this for around a year now with no problems.
