ok guys now i been messing around with my camera indoors with out flash in a well lite room......

but the pic still comes out dark ish

ill be able to add more details once i get home but just for now im wondering how you guys would st your camera up see what im doing wrong

what lens are you using?
you can always increase the exposure compensation by one stop or more.

how long is a piece of string????

without seeing what you got and settings used, bit difficult to answer in truth.

try lowering the f stop, reducing shutter speed or upping ISO

if using flash ISO 100
shutter speed i start of with 1/250 (sync speed)
then adjust apeture to get correct exposure.

by the way this is using an 430-EZ flash in manual not TTL set on 1/2 power.

thats true
but if ** not printing your pics then it really shouldn't matter and the image will still be usable.

so it's abit of a trade off i suppose.
dark pics thats not usable or brighter pics with more noise.

time to invest either ivest in a flash or a faster lens

set the f stop to suit the depth of field required, set shutter dependant on how much movement there is, fast moving objects need high shutter speed, slower moving objects can have a slower shutter speed. ISO to suit.
i dont have set settings to use indoors, they vary depending on how much light etc, which changes per room or time of day and direction you face

do remember that your eye is absolutely brilliant in that it automatically corrects white balance and adjusts to available light quickly, so what is good lighting to the eye, might not be as good as you thought

Yep, increase the ISO. Get a 430EX as soon as you can afford one, they are superb compared to the built in flash.
