Hi Guys just bought a YN-468 flashgun for my 550d

i have the canon 50mm 1.8 lens and 17-85mm Is Lens

what will be the best settings on the camera for indoors shots? i am off to a house party tomorrow and want to take some nice shots

thanks guys

I'm no expert but would try:

Manual (camera)- iso 200-400, 1/200 and f stop as required say 2.8-5.6. Flash in ETTL - Bounce off a white ceiling or wall should help too.

OK, guessing this is not dedicated to work in TTL mode with your camera, so it will be used in Manual? Had a few drinks tonight, with it being Christmas et al., but I think I would use a Damien Lovegrove[s/] AliB setting ;), by setting the camera at f4, iso 800, s/s at 1/60 and bounce the flash at a 45 degree angle behind your shoulder. Do some test shots in the room, starting from full power, and working yourself down untill the required effect is achieved. Once you have found the correct setting for the flash output in the room you are in, you are good to go all night long providing the ambient in the room remains constant.
