I have a 450D and want to point it into my garden to look at the birds in my garden. I want to hook up my camera to my laptop and watch the video on my laptop. Can that be done ! if so, how.
1: Connect Camera to laptop and turn on.
2: Start up the EOS Utility that came with the camera.
3: Select "Camera settings / Remote shooting
4: At the bottom of the pop up window you have a row of icons select 3rd from left remote live view shooting.
5: Play around and see what happens
I do get the feeling the results would be dissapointing at best.
I'd rather get a hide and learn how not to disturb the birds by beign out there with them. Somethim far more satisfying about actually being close to them.
There is a program from a russian developer, I don't recall the details that will allow you to use the 450d and other Canon cameras that have Liveview to record video, but it only works in tethered mode. this is the website. It's in Russian I'm afraid and I haven't translated it. I got the details from an Astro forum.
