I’ve been like this for months.
We’ve all been there, what piece of jewellery to get next.

I’ve been without a DSLR since getting shot of my D90 some months back.

The choice of lens has never been in doubt, the Nikkor 16-85 VRII, but the body is a different story.

1…Should I replace the D90, albeit this time with the better lens.
2…The D7000, latest all-singing all-dancing, the best thing since sliced bread.
3…Or the D300s.

I have read EVERY report ever written on all of them but, in the end it was up to me to put my money where my mouth is.

So…..I’ve gone for the D7000.

Why, because with the D7000 I felt I was buying the latest technology and not obsolescent technology.

The D90 and D300s are both extremely fine cameras but, I had to choose.

No doubt not everyone will agree with my decision.

Mmm . . . I have the same dilemma . . . reading the reviews, there seems to be some 'negatives' with the 7000 . . . coupled with the exorbitant RR price . . .

I still am leaning towards the 90, well proven, rave reviews originally, no negatives on the still photo side

However, pays your money etc., . . . enjoy. At the right price, I think could be turned . . . but I cant see me needing or using that level of technology . . . thats if I can understand it? So why pay the money . . . :shrug:

you won't be dissappointed - had the D7000 since the day of its release and not found one problem or issue with it yet - just more and more features !

unless you are planning on using it to hammer nails into something it way surpasses the D300s.

Been there Dave. Part ex'd my D5000 for a D300s about 3 weeks ago and some people were saying go for the D7000 or D700 but I wanted the D300s. Why?, because I do mainly sports photography and had seen what the D300 and D300s was capable of, also I wanted to keep the DX crop and not full frame because I had bought a 70-200 f/2.8, I know it can be used on a FX camera, but with the crop it acts like a 300mm so if I had bought a full frame camera I would have to have bought another lens to cope with only having 200mm on the fx lens, also it has fantastic AF which I needed as well.

Its what you want Dave. Enjoy it mate, I know I'm enjoying mine.
