Sharing Folders Between Computors

For specific info we would need to know which version of Windows you are running but basically....

You need networks cards in both machines (done - both are on the internet)

You need to set IP addresses for both (again done - both are on the internet and I take it setup to use DHCP to obtain an IP address from the router)

so far so good....

Now you need to give each a name and set them both into the same workgroup (this varies with different versions of Windows but basically go into control panel then system and have a look there for computer name and workgroup)

restart

Now they are in the same workgroup and have a name you can do a number of things. Open "Network Neighborhood" and have a look, they may be visible now to each other. If not you may need to enable sharing. Open a new folder on each computer in the root directory called SHARE. Right click each one and look for the option SHARE or similar (it may be in properties). Once you have found this just allow sharing for anyone at the moment. You should now have two computers appearing in network neighborhood each with a shared folder.

Sharing printers is easy enough, just right click and look for the options.

If you let us know exactly which version of windows you have it gets easier to describe in more details because each version is different
