Ok so Im a bit of an idiot when it comes to this stuff but use my macbook for day to day stuff and a new iMac for photography. Does leave me short if I get mail whilst using the iMac, so how can i share a POP3 account keeping both mailboxes current ie if I send mail using one mac it will show in the others sent box.
Im led to believe Mobile me does this but as I say im a numpty at this. Any assistance would be great.

You could do that with mobileme, but then everything has to go through your mobileme email address. The other way is to get an imap email server. I'm thinking of getting a MacMini Server to do this for me.

imap is the way to go, that's how I pick up mail and it does exactly what you expect, if you reply to an email from one computer then go to the other you see the sent mail etc, if you use gmail you can configure mac mail to work with it.

I was going to say use gmail. You can retrieve and send messages from a POP3 account. This way, you can access your mail on ANY pc you want as long as it has access to the internet
