Hi
I am looking for a way of getting a sharp, AF telephoto lens onto my NEX 6 for a reasonable price. The original sony lenses are incredibly expensive, except for 55-200 which I don't think is sharp enough for me.
I would consider an adapter if it allowed AF. I would also consider primes within a range of 100-200.

Thanks for advice.

Difficult.
I have a Nex 6 and have just bought a 50 to 210 to go with it. It's not a £1000 lens so I'm not expecting the very best quality, but it will do.

You can use the Sony SAL mount lenses with an adaptor for full AF, but the adaptor is expensive.
SAL mount lenses can be bought second hand to keep the cost down. I don't remember seeing that adaptor second hand.

I'm more into older lenses - Helios, Zeiss, Olympus etc from the 70's and 80's, when I'm not using the Sigma primes.

theres only the 55-200, 70 200 f4 (expensive) and the superzooms, which, well...

Kendo i couldnt not notice that you are in Edinburgh. Do you ever visit Glasgow? I would love to try the 50-210 before i commit to buying.

I'm free on Friday.
I have another Nex, a 16-50 and another 50-210 being delivered on Thursday(or maybe Wednesday), working on Wednesday.

Also worth considering the Minolta 70-210 f4 beercan, need an adaptor but if you use one of the active Sony ones you have good quite fast focusing
