I've decided that my long term ambition apart from taking good creative pics is to achieve max definition at say up to A3 with a DSLR. i.e. achieving medium format quality. Any suggestions plus examples appreciated and can I use some recommended software to improve on the original.

ps Getty Images say they want a minimum of 40MB?

Your thoughts please

Currently using D200.

Most agencies allow you to interpolate your files to reach the minimum size.

Well, if you're wanting to match MF film quality you're about ready ignite the mother of all debates. My own personal view is that my Canon 5D2 exceeds the quality of 6x45cm film and matches 6x7cm film (and, yes, before anyone asks... I have used all three formats extensively). So, you've got 3 choices if you want to buy new and stick with the 35mm DSLR format: Nikon D3x, Canon 5D2 and Canon 1Ds3.

Thanks for that

Looks like I should have sold my 6x6 camera a while ago:bonk:

I will say that digital has a different look to film but it's just that, different... not better & not worse. In my opinion the 5D2 still currently has the best IQ from any 35mm format DSLR. The D3 and D700 pip it at higher ISOs but can't match it otherwise. The 5D2 is also considerably cheaper than the other two and is more portable.

Just wait for the large sensor leica......
