Wasn't really sure where to post this, so I figure this forum is as good as any. :D

Anyone know anything about plywood? I'm wanting to mount acrylics on a sheet, but need the wood to be lightweight and warp very little if not at all.

For example, if I have a 30x20 acrylic print, I'm wanting a piece of sheet wood that's about 30x40 to mount the print on. Sort of give it another depth and a frame of sorts. Also cut down on the amount of holes I have to drill in my walls!

The whole idea of acrylics is that they stand off the mounting surface on small pillars, which adds the added dimension.

What about looking at coloured acrylic perspex or plastic to mount too, plywood is very industrial looking where as the acrylic is modern and sleek.

just my 2 pence worth.

Yeah, I'm aware of the idea of them. I have them printed all the time. :)

The idea of plywood or sheet wood is there so you could paint, stain, etc to match the interior style of a customers home. Plus, normal acrylics you have to drill 4 holes to mount... If you mounted directly to a piece of sheet wood, you would only need to drill 1-2 holes depending on the size of the piece.

Thanks for the feedback though. :)
