Yes
ive now started to shoot in RAW, but after ive had a little jiggle with it in photoshop, whats the best format to save it in for print

Do you mean photo prints or reproduction in mags etc? Usually jpeg but you also need to check the colour space required.

Check with your lab but most likely high quality jpegs.

Probably need to convert your pics in srgb color space.

I'm always inclined to keep the raw as well, just in case I can do a better PP job later.

Is it worth it, or a bit OCD??

This.

16 bit ProPhoto RGB colour for maximum colour gamut and colour resolution, though you should have been working in that colour space from the initial point of RAW conversion to make it worthwhile.

Then save a further copy/copies as 8-bit sRGB JPEG or whatever as your print lab, etc. requires it.

If you convert from RAW direct to sRGB in Camera RAW, then stick with that.

always keep your RAW. unless theyre totally out of focus rubbish :D

I honestly can't figure out why people would save to JPG if they want quality.

once youve done all of your edits to the file then its perfectly fine.

Currently shooting in RAW and .jepg iam now thinking about just shooting in RAW. To save space and will save me time as I wont have to sort thru RAW and .jepg. Will just export a jepg from a RAW file if needed. Seem a good idea?

TIFF

Because it depends on what the lab/end client requires. You can adjust the compression ratio so I usually save as 100%, 70% for web use.

I use lightroom so save the raws, the metadata and export as jpeg. The only raws I dispose of are the discards, the out of focus, shots the flash didn't fire etc. I can go back to any shot and re-edit if required, which I've done with some older shots as I've learnt more. Colour aberration is an example I can think of

I shoot raw and small jpeg if I know I'm going to be importing onto the iPad for a quick photoshow i.e. after a game showing the photos in the clubhouse.
The small jpegs import quickly.
Other than that I discard the jpegs, but I know many sports photographers who only shoot in jpeg because of the increased speed (buffer size) and the small jpegs are quicker to send.

As for storage - well, it's quite cheap these days. I have 6Tb my PC, a couple of 3Tb usb backup disks and a nas raid system.

I shoot Raw, save in high quality JPEG and keep the raw.

I don't use tiff, because I don't have that much space on my drives, but hopefully investing in a new HDD soon :)

I shoot raw and print tiff, anything I'm not printing myself (big stuff) goes on a DVD to a local printer, who also likes tiff so its all gravy. Come to think of it I'm sure the last canvasses I got from snapmad I uploaded a tiff file.
