Shooting a Sponsoerd Walk

Hi all i am meant to be shooting a sponsored walk for a local school later in October, but i am really unsure of how to do this, as there will be in total 900 pupils and i need to get at least 30 shots of each age group. I have no idea what equipment i will be using, possibly D40 or D60+18-55+55-200, possibly D40 or D60+70-200 or possibly a D700+50+28+70-200. Any ideas which kit selection would be best? I will also have a SB-900 if needed. It will be mostly in woodland areas if that helps.

take one lens and snap them...the more in the shot the better
you can get close to them to do portrait thingys
so i dont think you need to be distant to get your shots
wide apertures for speed
and blurry shots ..panned ...for effect
get the banners in
